ABOUT US AND OUR FISHING CHARTER DREAM

One Fish Two Fish Charters began as a dream, after our first trip to the Bay Islands. We went back to Canada after that trip making plans for “some day.” When the kids finish school, when our obligations were fulfilled looking after children and sick parents.

Well, in April of 2007, that dream became a reality and we sold our house and most of our belongings, moved with our chocolate lab, and our calico cat to Roatan, and opened One Fish Two Fish Charters, specializing in Deep Sea and Offshore Fishing Charters.

In September we purchased our wonderful boat ‘La Paz’ (Peace, in Spanish), and the rest, as they say, is history!  Roatan’s Premiere East End Deep Sea Fishing Charter was born!

Our Boat

La Paz is a wide beam (9 feet), sturdy hull, fiberglass center console boat.  Very stable, even in big seas.  We run a Cummins  Mercruiser 4.2L Diesel 200 HP with an outdrive… super reliable and lots of top end speed.  We can do 40 knots on glassy water!

Safety Equipment

Our boat is equipped with life vests, VHF Radio, Cell Phone, Garmin GPS and Sonar, Compass, Digital Charts of the Bay Islands, Depth Finder, Fish Finder, First Aid Kit and even an RN on board. Not all outfits on Roatan are safety equipped… ask and be sure! Our Offshore and Deep Sea Fishing Charters have the equipment and the expertise to ensure you have a SAFE and enjoyable experience.

WHO WE ARE

Andrew and Wendy Flood are expat Canadians from Canada’s frozen sub-Arctic. (Yellowknife, Northwest Territories) They moved to Roatan, Honduras full time in April 2007, after visiting several times in the previous years.

Andrew is a Professional Fishing Charter Guide, with 20 years of fish guiding experience, including some world record Lake Trout in Northern Canada!  Andrew will bait your hook, set your line, give you guidance as you reel in the big one, gaff your catch and even filet it up for dinner if you like!  Although a Canadian now, he is a native of Dublin, Ireland, …he’s certainly got the gift of the gab, and can keep you entertained for hours with fishing stories!

Wendy is a Registered Nurse who volunteers at the local clinics to help improve the health care of the people of Roatan.  She helps with the fishing charters, drives the boat, assists Andrew with bait and gaff, and provides the meals, along with a friendly smiling face.  She has been known to use her RN skills on board when necessary… nice to have a nurse on board!
